David Dornan lives, works in Helper, Utah.
He is a graduate of the University of Utah (B.F.A., 1976) and Arizona State University (M.F.A., 1982) and taught at the University of Utah art and art history department from 1982 to 1999. He resigned the faculty position to pursue his painting career full time. His work is in numerous public and private collections throughout the United States. He has been exhibiting nationally for nearly 30 years, selling works extensively throughout Utah, Arizona, California, New York and elsewhere.
David has produced a sizable body of work, focusing most recently on a series of still life motif paintings.
His motivation to paint is not reason and issues but passion and the beauty of light and color.
